Let’s be frank, many people who are old enough to have heard of/experienced the war in Vietnam, the fall of the Berlin wall, and/or 9/11, may not have the highest opinion of folks from Generation “Z”. This is especially the case for Gen Z-er’s in the West. Many of us have reaped the benefits, and grown fat, from the technology, healthcare, robust economy, and other innovations that our predecessors worked so hard to achieve. This hard work may seem unappreciated, but that is not the case; our purpose hasn’t fully come to fruition yet.
While a plethora of ideas, movements, and innovations came out of the 20th century, many things were lost in the process. Hamilton’s ideas of a strong federal government and thick urban development were implemented from coast-to-coast, while Jefferson’s ideas of stronger local entities and communities slowly disappeared. Further, many truths that that the cognitive savants of Medieval Europe were lost, and this can be one reason why so many folks are confused about what’s important. It’s hard to know what’s real with the rise of AI, saturated social media, overexposed technology, subjective morality, and a lack of touch with our higher entity: God. This has made many a brain into a vegetable.
That’s why I started this.
You need a fresh breeze and a simple touch of what’s true and real. There are many niche communities that Gen Z-er’s have started that are taking us back to these good things; and they are only growing. I have had the pleasure of being around many of these great Gen Z-er’s who have proven to me that “Iron sharpens iron.” I truly see a beautiful future if we fuel this flame.
With that in mind, after reading this substack, I recommend you to turn off your phone and computer, get out of the prison we call “indoors”, and soak up the heat and greenery of summer. After that, take a nice breathe of air and thank God for another great day to be the fullest version of yourself.
“A pure heart penetrates heaven and hell.”
-Thomas À Kempis.
